Joey Vitale

ATTORNEY FOR PROFESSIONAL CREATIVES

You’re looking for an engaging speaker for your next event. Someone who knows how to educate, entertain, and shed light on the legal side of running a creative business. This page boils down the information you’ll need as you’re planning your event.

Who am I?

I’m an attorney who’s passionate about helping bold and thriving creatives.

After years working in the courtroom, I decided to embrace my creative side and practice law on my own terms. As a lawyer, I got tired of watching creative people with great ideas get taken advantage of by others. I have seen too many business owners fail by not being proactive about protecting their businesses — amazing creatives who lost their brands and businesses because certain protections weren’t put in place.

I created Indie Law to give creatives a legal experience that was custom-made with their unique pain points, challenges, and style in mind. Today, I empower talented creatives and maximize their success. I work with professional creatives and protect their peace of mind through entity formation, trademark registrations, contract drafting, and other fundamental legal needs for small businesses.

My friends.

In addition to running Indie Law, I also manage the Friends of Indie Law, a Facebook group of over 6,500 members and counting. In that group, I talk legal tips and business lessons I’ve learned along the way. This group has been praised for being positive and helpful space where I deliver valuable information and facilitate powerful discussions.

Tune in live.

I also host a series of weekly live shows on Facebook, including the Indie Show, a talk show for creatives where I interview creative business experts and help spread their relevant wisdom to others.

Looking for credentials?

Sure! I’m blessed to work with some of the most successful and enjoyable creatives in the country. I graduated from St. Louis University Law School in the top 20% of my class. I’m licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri, which means I’ve had enough bar prep studying for a lifetime. And I led over 20 retreats while in high school and college, so I’ve mastered the art of being an engaging speaker.

Oh, and I met Lil’ Bow Wow on a plane once.
